Gasparilla International Film Festival Celebrates Five Years
Festival Announces Film Categories and Line-up Details

TAMPA, Fla. – Celebrating its fifth anniversary, the Gasparilla International Film Festival (GIFF) invites film and entertainment enthusiasts to indulge in an incredible variety of films and luxurious parties being held throughout Tampa Bay from Thursday, March 24 – Sunday, March 27.

This year’s festival will feature more than 80 films and shorts at Tampa Theatre, Centro Ybor Muvico and CinéBistro in Hyde Park. The festival will kick off at the Tampa Theatre on Thursday, March 24 with the film “When the Music Stopped” and will conclude at the Tampa Theatre on March 27 with “Square Grouper.”

“GIFF is proud to serve as a springboard of success in the entertainment industry,” said Eric Polins, 2011 GIFF president. “This year we have chosen amazing films and have planned some great parties that people in Tampa will surely be buzzing about.”

GIFF is focused on increasing opportunities for filmmakers and film fans alike. This year’s festival will look into the music industry and feature films in categories including North American Documentaries and Narrative, Global Panorama, Cuban Sidebar, Fun & Fear, Florida Film, Shorts, Young Filmmaker, University of Tampa Student Showcase along with a variety of special screening films.
