Digital Domain Institute Presents the 6th Annual Gasparilla International Film Festival 

TAMPA, Fla. – Feb. 8, 2012 – Digital Domain Institute, a subsidiary of leading digital production company, Digital Domain Media Group, has been named presenting sponsor for the Gasparilla International Film Festival.

Recently nominated for two Academy Awards for Real Steel and Transformers 3, Digital Domain is returning to the Gasparilla Film Festival, this time as presenting sponsor for the next two years.

“Digital Domain is a prominent influence in the film industry, and we’re excited and honored to have been chosen as a beneficiary by such a prestigious Florida-based company,” says Joe Restaino, board president of GIFF. “Our continued partnership with such a groundbreaking company reaffirms the importance of GIFF in the Tampa Bay area, as well as the necessity to have such organizations to promote not only the media of film, but the arts as an entirety within the region.”

This year’s event will be held from March 29-April 1 and features more than 100 films from documentaries and dramas to comedies and short films.

This year’s festival will honor Emmy and Tony award winning actor, Keith David with the Career Achievement Award. David has been featured in a variety of film’s including, Oliver Stone’s Platoon, Crash, There’s Something About Mary and as the narrator of numerous Ken Burns films.
